Safety Coordinator

Safesearch is seeking a highly skilled Safety Coordinator to join our team in the Hunter Valley region. As a key player in shaping the safety culture at our mining operations, you will be responsible for driving safety initiatives, ensuring compliance, and preparing for unexpected scenarios.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Safety Initiatives: Design and implement proactive measures to prevent accidents and injuries, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Conduct Regular Safety Inspections and Audits: Conduct thorough safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop Emergency Response Plans: Develop and maintain emergency response plans for a wide range of scenarios, ensuring the safety of employees and the community.
- Lead Incident Investigations: Analyze incidents, identify root causes, and recommend actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Work Health & Safety (OHS) or related field.
- Industry Experience: Mining experience, preferably in coal mining operations.
- Knowledge of NSW WHS Legislation: In-depth understanding of NSW Work Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing safety systems, with a proven track record of success.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
