Thiess is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Training Manager to join our team at the Mount Arthur South project. As the Health, Safety & Training Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of site-based Health, Safety and Training teams to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the provision of Health, Safety & Training services to the business
  • Manage compliance systems, practices, and standards across the project
  • Conduct daily reviews of incident reports
  • Manage and coordinate team activities
  • Build a strong HST team
  • Provide solutions to technical, resourcing, and logistical problems
  • Serve as the key promoter of the safety culture on the operation

About You

We are looking for a professional with:

  • Previous experience in a senior role in Health and Safety, Training Management
  • Ability to understand workplace risk
  • Previous experience in managing health, safety, and training risks of a business
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategy and influence change with top-level management
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with a minimum Diploma in OHS and/or Cert IV WH&S
  • Demonstrated experience in open pit mine operations
  • Sound knowledge of NSW OHS legislation and mine regulations
