Exciting Opportunities in Marine Research

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to join our research team as a Research Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the advancement of our understanding of critical ecological processes within modified coastal seascapes.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in a relevant field, with experience in marine biodiversity assessment and implementation of scientific monitoring programs. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Data Collection and Analysis: The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and processing biological data, as well as coordinating accurate reporting and documentation of research outputs.
  • Fieldwork Coordination: This role will involve planning and leading coastal fieldwork, organising logistics, maintaining field equipment, and ensuring safety and ethics compliance.
  • Team Collaboration: As a key member of our research team, the successful candidate will facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders, address concerns proactively, and foster collaboration.
  • Project Support: The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the lead CIs, including organisation of project meetings, management of purchasing, payments, and invoice processing.

Requirements for this role include a BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, demonstrated experience in a related role, and essential qualifications such as a current NSW drivers license, NSW recreational boating license or equivalent, and experience conducting marine fieldwork. We also require candidates to be comfortable using MS Office suite and have experience working in large teams.
