Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Adelaide. The successful candidate will provide leadership and technical expertise in electrical engineering for water and defence projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the electrical engineering design project, teams, and assignments.
  • Organize, execute, coordinate, mentor, and coach the team and undertake complex engineering tasks.
  • Apply advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes.
  • Be involved in all aspects of design, including contributing to and performing designs, preparing specifications.
  • Operate within KBR's quality management system.
  • Discuss and negotiate critical issues within the discipline both internally and with external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Significant practical and theoretical knowledge in electrical engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking and supervising detailed design of a broad range of electrical systems, primarily High Voltage systems.
  • Solid experience of leading a multi-disciplinary project team and the ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Experience in preparing and verifying design calculations (including self-checking) using either manual methods or with the aid of computer programs, and guiding designers and drafters in the preparation of drawings and to undertake review of these drawings.
  • Significant experience in preparing and reviewing reports and technical specifications.
  • The ability to liaise with clients, statutory authorities, and other consultants.
  • A Chartered Member (CPEng) credential from Engineers Australia or the ability to obtain chartership within a reasonable agreed time frame.
  • A Practical knowledge and commitment to Health and Safety Design knowledge of applicable codes and standards (both Australian and international).
  • Australian Citizenship preferred with the ability to obtain Defence clearance.
