At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we are seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will play a vital role in the design and development of our products.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for industrial and mining applications, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Implement Engineering Change Orders and ensure design for manufacturability input on equipment designs.
  • Participate in supplier qualifications/audits and support quality team to develop suppliers quality performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with current industry standard methodology to provide product expertise and provide advice to the wider organisation as a recognised SME.


Requirements:

  • Degree qualification in a Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Formal Electrical, Computer Science or Project Management studies are desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in an appropriate engineering role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or and experience working to engineering and AS/ISO standards, including the ISO 9001: Quality System.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and underlying theory.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering plant drawings and P&ID diagrams.
  • Presentation and communication skills to develop high levels of credibility with customers.
  • Self-motivated and committed with an ability to run schedules and maintain critical timelines.
  • Proficient user of 2D and 3D drawing packages (AutoCAD, SolidWorks preferred) and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to program PLC or exposure to control systems is ideal or will be required to be developed.
