Strategic Finance Leader

The role of a Chief Financial Officer is to drive financial strategy and growth across Australia, the US, and global markets. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for shaping the financial future of a brand with global ambition.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth across Australia, the US, and global markets.
  • Mentor and Support Team: Mentor and support an established finance team with empathy and clarity, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to succeed.
  • Improve Financial Systems: Improve financial systems, reporting, and controls, embedding best practices to support rapid and responsible growth.
  • Contribute to Company-Wide Strategy: Contribute to company-wide strategy, planning, and decision-making, providing financial expertise and guidance.
  • Manage Accounting and Cash Flow: Manage day-to-day accounting and cash flow while maintaining a long-term focus on profitability.
  • Build Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, external accountants, and key financial stakeholders.
  • Develop Commercial Models: Develop and manage commercial models that support smarter decisions across marketing, inventory, logistics, and growth initiatives.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualification: A tertiary qualification in commerce, accounting, business, or a related field, along with CPA or CA certification. An MBA or equivalent strategic training is a strong advantage.
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within e-commerce, fashion, or retail.
  • Founder-Led Environment: A background in founder-led or entrepreneurial environments, with hands-on experience scaling a business.
  • Strong Systems Mindset: A strong systems mindset, with a passion for designing and improving tools, processes, and platforms.
  • Balance Strategic Thinking and Operational Involvement: The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations.
  • High Emotional Intelligence: High emotional intelligence and strong leadership skills that bring out the best in your team.
  • Commercial Mindset: A commercial mindset and the confidence to challenge, question, and drive performance across departments.
  • Banking Relationships: Experience managing banking relationships, external advisors, and capital planning.
  • International Expansion: Exposure to international expansion or omnichannel strategies is highly regarded.
