Disability Life Skills Supporter Role

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.

About the Position
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing life skills support and assistance to individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities include aiding with daily life activities, supporting individuals with their educational and work-related endeavours, facilitating access to community, social, and recreational activities, and assisting with transportation.

Essential Requirements
  • Experience or qualifications in disability or aged care are essential.
  • A person-centred approach to supporting individuals with complex behaviours and/or mental health needs is crucial.
  • Good English communication skills are required.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, reports, and case notes through a mobile phone is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Disability Inclusion Act 2014, Disability Service Standards, and NDIS is required.
  • Possession of a valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Workers Check is mandatory.
  • A current NSW Driver's license, access to a reliable car, and Comprehensive car insurance are also required.
  • A First Aid Certificate is a necessary qualification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability or Individual Support would be highly regarded.
