About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the submission of competitive tenders and providing the foundations for successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate tender opportunities and select those relevant to our business
  • Review contracts and tender documentation
  • Attend project-specific pre-tender briefings and post-tender interviews (as required)
  • Prepare detailed tender submissions for various components of civil construction projects
  • Collaborate with Project and Operations teams on proposed methodologies and construction programs to ensure appropriate construction techniques are implemented and associated risks are mitigated
  • Liaise with clients and contractors during tender stages to gather necessary details
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing and engage in negotiation as required
  • Record and maintain accurate win/loss data and provide suggestions for improvement to senior management
  • Comply with and improve Quality Assurance procedures related to tendering and tender review
  • Manage multiple tenders at any one time
  • Attend and manage handover meetings with the Project team
  • Build sound client and supplier relationships
  • Contribute to business development and identify new tender opportunities
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary education in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or Construction Management
  • 5+ years' experience in Estimation, Civil, or Construction industry
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of technical standards in preparing estimates and project costings
  • Ability to work autonomously
