About the Position

We are seeking an experienced estimator to join our team in the Medium Density construction segment.

This role involves evaluating bid criteria and drawings to win B2B and medium density contracts.

As a Senior Estimator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the team with sales and production estimations.
  • Preparing precise quantities for tender level BOQs and ensuring a smooth and confident engagement with subcontractors for bid tendering.
  • Analyzing project documentation to determine if all elements are included, such as tender schedule costing and subcontractor RFQ (Request for Quote), various forms of building contracts – AS 4902 / HIA.
  • Ensuring accurate measurements, managing Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and meeting project budgets by issuing vendor requests and adhering to Rawson Homes procedures.
  • Reviewing plans, engineers, specifications, schedules, authority requirements, and any other relevant documentations to ensure there is no conflicting information when preparing Tenders and variations.
  • Ensuring complete tasks and meeting job targets within designated timeframes.
  • Liaising with internal departments, including sales and projects teams.
  • Maintaining a professional network with suppliers and subcontractors.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Appropriate qualifications in the building/estimating field, preferably.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, preferably, or greater experience within the building industry.
  • Prior experience using estimating software, such as Databuild, Build Soft, Timerbline Plan Swift, or similar.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and team player temperament.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond promptly to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
