Job Title: Office Manager

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Office Manager to join our team in the Parliamentarian's Electorate Office in Burnie, Tasmania.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Electorate Office team, budgets, and operations.
  • Oversee office correspondence, equipment, resources, and security protocols.
  • Ensure timely service to constituents and community organizations.
  • Manage the Senator's office budget and expenses.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage Electorate Office staff.
  • Coordinate meeting briefs, casework, and constituent inquiries.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience as an office manager or senior administrative officer in a demanding public or private sector environment.
  • Strong budget management skills and willingness to learn parliamentary expenses management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage staff tasks and needs.
  • Customer service focus with a pleasant and respectful demeanor.
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft 365 and Excel.
  • Understanding of Australia's system of government and parliamentary processes.
Employment Conditions:
  • Commencing salary between $71,245 - $83,179, negotiable depending on experience and skills.
  • Additional allowance may be considered for reasonable additional hours of work.
  • Relocation assistance, studies assistance, and paid study leave may be available.
  • Employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.

Initial probationary period of three months may apply. Successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Policy History Check.
