Job Description

The Office for Early Childhood Development has a clear mandate: to create a fairer and better future for all children in South Australia by implementing the accepted recommendations of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care.

We are seeking an experienced financial professional with high level task management capability, who has significant expertise in budgetary management.

The successful candidate will have an appropriate tertiary qualification in Accountancy, Finance or Business Management, and the ability to exercise initiative and judgement in the analysis and resolution of complex problems.

They will be able to meet critical deadlines while handling sensitive issues, and have sound knowledge of government financial management frameworks, processes, systems and budget functions.

  • Provide expert business advice in Prudential Financial management
  • Support the management of the annual budget and FTE plan for the organization, including for all Divisions, Directorates, Units and Projects.
  • Produce monthly financial reports and analysis for divisions for use in key decision-making.
  • Provide education, advice and analysis in relation to budget management systems, acquittals, procedures and methodologies to build internal knowledge.
  • Undertake complex financial analysis to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
Key Requirements

An appropriate tertiary qualification in Accountancy, Finance or Business Management is essential. The successful candidate will have significant experience in financial and budgetary management, as well as high level task management capability.

Sound knowledge of government financial management frameworks, processes, systems and budget functions is also required.
