Behaviour Support Practitioner (Clinician)

About the Role

Deliver high-quality, person-centred behaviour support services to a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify functional behaviours and support needs of clients
  • Develop and implement evidence-based behaviour support plans in collaboration with clients, their families, and care teams
  • Provide specialist behaviour support interventions and strategies to address complex behaviours and promote positive outcomes
  • Deliver training and support to ensure effective implementation of behaviour support plans
  • Monitor and evaluate plan effectiveness, making adjustments as needed
  • Maintain detailed clinical records and contribute to continuous improvement of behaviour support services
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with healthcare professionals

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, or related allied health discipline
  • Demonstrated or emerging experience in provision of behaviour support services, preferably in disability or mental health sectors
  • Thorough understanding of positive behaviour support principles and ability to apply them in practice
  • Strong clinical assessment and case formulation skills, with ability to develop tailored behaviour support plans
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage and collaborate with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
