Open Cut Mine Planning Role

Job Description

We are seeking a Mining Engineer to join our Technical Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for short, medium and long term mine planning, drill and blast engineering, pit geology and survey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering quality engineering outputs through designing, monitoring and communicating effective mine designs and schedules
  • Direct involvement in the development of daily, weekly and monthly plans
  • Design and scheduling for draglines, rope shovels, hydraulic excavators and haul fleet
  • Ensure compliance to legislative requirements and site standards
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Previous experience in mine planning within an Open Cut Coal Mining environment
  • Experience with CAD design software packages such as Deswik, shot plus, or Vulcan
  • An eye for detail and an ability to develop practical and achievable mine designs and schedules
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • NSW driver's license
