Job Summary

This role is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of a state library's multilingual bulk loans service to public libraries. The successful candidate will have experience in direct service provision and supervising staff, as well as skills in using automated systems and information technology.

About the Role

The Collection Services Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating collection management activities, including acquisitions planning and collection maintenance, to meet client needs and within budget;
  • Providing direct client-focused reference, information and circulation services;
  • Supervising three Library Assistants and setting work objectives and performance managing their work;

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in direct service provision to clients in a library or information services environment and an ability to supervise staff and coordinate service delivery;
  • Skills and experience in using and administering automated systems and information technology in a library or information services environment;
  • Qualifications acceptable for library technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) or other qualifications and experience deemed by the State Librarian to be equivalent;
