Role Overview
Equine Nurse Canberra Racetrack and Equestrian Services is seeking an equine nurse to join our practice based in Canberra. Canberra is a large city with a population of approximately 500,000 located less than 3 hours from Sydney and 2 hours from the coast and the snow.
The Practice We are a well-established practice with a large client base which has recently acquired the infrastructure previously known as Canberra Equine Hospital. This exciting opportunity allows for exponential potential as we are reopening the surgical facilities, inpatient care and lameness diagnosis using the existing premises.
The Position An equine veterinary nurse who preferably has a Cert IV in nursing and be familiar with assisting with surgical procedures. The role will be 5 days per week with limited after-hours remuneration commensurate with experience but above industry norm.
We service clients at Canberra and nearby Queanbayan racetracks as well as several equestrian centres and refer these into the clinic for further workups. Our practice is fully equipped with surgical operating theatre digital X-ray ultrasound portable and video endoscope gastroscope shockwave and thermography.
Our Practice is an Academic Associate Practice with the University of Melbourne and in addition has veterinary students seeing practice from international veterinary schools as well as other Universities in Australia.
