About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Allied Health Assistant Team Leader to join our team at Helping Hand. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and developmental support to our Allied Health Assistants, who deliver direct support to clients participating in our range of wellbeing activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Development: Provide guidance and support to Allied Health Assistants to ensure they are equipped to deliver high-quality care to our clients.
  • Service Delivery: Monitor service delivery to ensure clients are encouraged to identify goals for independence, wellness, and reablement.
  • Performance Management: Monitor the performance of staff on a daily basis to ensure satisfactory performance in line with program, aged care standards, and client expectations.
  • Quality Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance client care and operational efficiency.
  • Reporting: Provide timely information and reporting to the Exercise Physiology Manager in relation to the role and KPIs that apply to the role.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Allied Health Assistant Certificate III or equivalent experience.
  • Decision-Making: Decision-making abilities with experience in identifying solutions and alternatives, deciding on a course of action, and implementing.
  • Knowledge and Understanding: Knowledge and understanding of Consumer Directed Care Principles (CDC) and Aged Care Standards.
  • Communication Skills: High-level written and verbal communication skills, as well as proven strengths in collaboration, networking, report writing, lateral thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Access to Vehicle: Access to a private motor vehicle and a valid driver's license.
  • Certifications: Possesses or is willing to acquire up-to-date certifications in First Aid and CPR.
  • NDIS Worker Screening: Valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance or be willing to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Tertiary Qualification: A tertiary qualification in a human services discipline, community development, community services, social planning, social sciences, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Senior Service Delivery: Proven experience in a senior service delivery role within the community services sector, with a strong preference for experience facilitating groups for older adults or individuals with disabilities.
  • Legislation and Guidelines: Knowledge of the legislation and guidelines for the provision of service to older people living in the community.
