Procurement Specialist

The APS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team as a Commercial Support Officer. This role is accountable for performing procurement activities within an integrated workforce and adhering to a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices, and procedures in accordance with Defence's mission and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Procurement Activities: Deliver a diverse range of initiatives to facilitate compliant and defensible procurement processes through the procurement lifecycle.
- Contract Management: Draft contract and procurement documentation, negotiate and establish contracts, and provide input to strategic reporting and decision-making.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Provide guidance to Joint Information Capabilities Branch (JICB) business areas and work collaboratively across stakeholders to deliver organisational objectives.
- Training and Development: Build valuable experience across a variety of procurement disciplines and participate in training and development opportunities.
The Joint Information Capabilities Branch (JICB) is one of four branches within the Joint Capabilities Division of Joint Capabilities Group (JCG). JCG was formed in July 2017 with the mandate to deliver joint warfighting capabilities to the ADF.
JICB develops and manages a number of capabilities, including Joint Simulation Capabilities (JSC), Joint Cyber & Influence (C&I), Assured Position Navigation Timing (PNT), Joint Electronic Warfare (EW), and Project Management Office (PMO) including Health Knowledge Management.
Joint Information Capabilities (JIC) is a blended workforce of Australian Public Service (APS), Australian Defence Force (ADF), and Contracted personnel who work together with a One Defence mindset to support Defence outcomes with offices located within the Canberra region.
Requirements- Commercial Experience: Demonstrated commercial experience and ability to provide detailed, technical, and professional policy advice.
- Procurement Fundamentals: Understanding of procurement fundamentals, including government policies, processes, and principles, and ability to interpret basic contract terms and conditions and identify key deliverables.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Flexibility in approach, adaptable to changing priorities, and ability to deliver required outcomes with limited direction.
- Communication Skills: Good written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Integrity and Probity: Ethical values and behaviours with a high regard for integrity, probity, and compliance.
