Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Team Lead to oversee the completion of engineering projects, hire and train qualified engineering staff, set project budgets and timelines for completion, and provide technical assistance and advice to customers, management, and workshop employees.

About the Role

This role will see you lead the Engineering team in the execution of strategic initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and implement machine improvements in the field. You will also be responsible for maintaining the engineering request for information process, providing feedback to the Management team on current issues with machines, and reviewing engineering staff performance periodically.

  • Ensure that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the Engineering department.
  • Mentor mechanical design and computer modelling.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement measures to achieve this.
  • Review and approve project proposals and ensure they align with business objectives.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years related experience (underground mining equipment desirable).
  • Thorough understanding of engineering theory and design criteria.
  • Proficient with computers-aided drafting (CAD) software.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
