Senior Optical Network Engineer Job Opportunity

The Senior Optical Network Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our network to provide maximum performance and availability to all customers. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining optical transport networks, as well as troubleshooting and resolving escalated issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing and implementing advanced optical network infrastructure solutions
  • Proactively monitoring and optimizing optical network performance metrics
  • Troubleshooting complex network faults and resolving escalated optical network issues effectively
  • Maintaining strict adherence to industry-standard security protocols
  • Managing and maintaining accurate optical network documentation and inventory records
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams where required to drive business outcomes
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in optical networking
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, operations, and maintenance of coherent Muxponders, fixed grid multiplexers, ROADMs, optical protection switches, EDFA line amplifiers, and submarine Line Terminal Equipment
  • Deep understanding of long-haul, metro, and subsea transmission systems architecture and design principles
  • Strong track record in troubleshooting, capacity planning, and performance optimization techniques
  • Proficiency with vendor platforms such as Ciena, Cisco, and PacketLight
