Portfolio Management and Consumer Portfolio Leader

This role is accountable for developing and executing consumer portfolio management strategies that ensure financial targets and business objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, lead and implement consumer portfolio strategies to meet financial and business objectives.
  2. Monitor market, competitors, performance, and customer insights to drive strategic pivots.
  3. Maintain appropriate target market and manage portfolio exposure in line with accumulation management requirements.
  4. Drive continuous monitoring of trends and growth opportunities to inform business decisions.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement relevant portfolio actions and contribute to the financial planning process.
  6. Liaise with pricing teams to support development of pricing strategies and capabilities to ensure adequacy of pricing.
  7. Provide recommendations to commercial teams to achieve portfolio performance in accordance with pricing governance and risk frameworks.

Requirements:

  • Proven analytical and critical thinking abilities to evaluate complex alternatives and articulate strategies.
  • Experience in managing consumer products within a financial services institution, preferably in general insurance (CTP/Home/Motor).
  • Experience working with internal and external data and analytical tools is essential, ideally one of SQL, SAS, Python, Tableau, or MicroStrategy.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of products, industry practices, and governing legislation.
  • Highly developed consulting and influencing skills to co-create strategy, valuable analytical solutions, and present this to key business stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact, and influence.
