At Save the Children, we are seeking an experienced practitioner to join our team as a Family Support Specialist - Women's Advocate. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with families impacted by domestic and family violence in remote communities.

About the Role

This full-time, permanent position involves travelling between communities in the Gulf region to provide ongoing support to individuals impacted by domestic and family violence. You will be working closely with the Men's Program to advocate for victim-survivors and ensure their safety.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist victim-survivors in completing safety plans and conducting risk assessments, taking into account the needs of children
  • Work collaboratively with the Men's Program, sharing information under guidelines to ensure accountability and safety of women
  • Complete warm referrals to relevant services
  • Provide ongoing support and contact to those impacted

We offer a competitive award rate salary (Level 4.1 - $43.08 per hour), full salary packaging benefits, and accommodation provided in communities you travel to. Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in remote communities and families experiencing domestic and family violence
  • Demonstrated experience in case management and knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills, including data collation and analysis
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or significant experience working in a similar service
