Program Development and Implementation Officer

This role is responsible for driving program planning, administration, and evaluation to support disaster recovery initiatives across Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Director of Recovery Programs to advance province-wide endeavors related to emergency preparedness, response, and recovery.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage and deliver outcomes for multiple programs, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and provincial priorities.
  • Oversee the administration of legislation, regulations, and cost-shared grants with municipalities.
  • Provide expert advice that informs policy and long-term direction, supporting both immediate program delivery and broader transformation and modernization of disaster recovery programs and services in the province.
Key Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in program administration, policy development, and evaluation.
  • Strong knowledge of government structures, legislation, and municipal or provincial program delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build partnerships, influence stakeholders, and provide sound advice.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the province as required.
