Listen and Record Life Stories

As a volunteer in Western Sydney, you'll have the opportunity to use your listening and writing skills to help community clients record their stories, memories, and messages for loved ones.

We're looking for a compassionate volunteer to visit a remarkable woman over 6–8 weeks and help capture her life story. Originally from Sri Lanka, she's a mother of three with a rich history, having lived in Germany, worked as a travel consultant, and holds a deep interest in faith, politics, and culture.

During visits, you'll engage in meaningful conversations and help turn her memories into a treasured keepsake for her and her family.

Ideally, you'll possess advanced knowledge of word processing software, typing skills of at least 50 words per minute, and the ability to work independently and problem-solve.

You'll also need to be willing to learn new technology and software, such as digital recording devices and transcription programs.

Transcription and editing can occur in the evenings, while face-to-face interviews will take place on weekdays between 9am-4pm for one hour.
