About the Role

UGL's Manufacturing & Maintenance business is seeking a Heavy Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Kooragang site in Newcastle. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing scheduled service work, fault finding and troubleshooting tasks on locomotives.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform scheduled service work on locomotives
* Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting tasks
* Work in a team environment to achieve quality work and customer service excellence

Requirements

* Australian recognised trade certificate and hold a Certificate of Proficiency – Mechanical or Electrical
* Working experience in a maintenance environment is essential – Preferably rollingstock maintenance
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Reliable & punctual
* General rail and locomotive experience is desirable but not a necessity
* Commitment to a safe work environment and practices
* Work autonomously and in a team environment
* Focused on quality work & customer service excellence
* Forklift license is desirable but not a necessity
* Work cover overhead crane licence desirable but not a necessity
* Lathe operational experience desirable but not a necessity
