About the Role

The Maintenance Manager will oversee all building facilities activities, including preventative and reactive works. This role involves managing the maintenance of apartments, common areas, and the building exterior.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience by building strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring a high level of communication.
  • General repairs such as plumbing, electrical, plant and machinery, light bulb changes, painting, plastering, and carpentry.
  • Maintain the highest level of maintenance and compliance, safety, and security at all times.
  • Establish systems and procedures to facilitate preventative maintenance programs.
  • Record, report, and assist the General Manager to manage all building defects.
  • Assist other staff and residents with training in preventative maintenance and any health and safety issues.
  • Monitor spare parts stock levels and report if low levels.
  • Assist in the formulation of maintenance budgets year on year.
  • Oversee all apartment turnover activities in line with make-good procedures and timelines.
  • Manage the work of external contractors and provide progress updates to the General Manager.
  • Ability and willingness to work both on the tools and administratively.
  • Assist with the development of service contract scopes and tender process.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in general property and grounds maintenance and repairs (including electrical, plumbing installations, and building maintenance).
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role within a maintenance department.
  • Understanding of OH&S principles and chemical handling.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with staff, owners, residents, and contractors.
  • National Police Check (completed within the last 3 months), at your own cost.
  • Unrestricted work rights in Australia.
  • Trade qualification as a Mechanical Engineer, Electrician, or Plumber (highly desirable).
