Job Description

As a Demi Chef, you will work closely with Senior Chefs to prepare, present, and cook delicious meals according to established recipes and procedures.


Responsibilities
  • Manage your section efficiently and effectively, ensuring high productivity levels.
  • Monitor daily food and product requirements and advise the supervisor accordingly.
  • Assist with training Commis Chefs and apprentices to ensure they meet the desired standards.
  • Complete all required tasks accurately and within given time frames.
  • Be familiar with other kitchen operations within the hotel, promoting flexibility and efficiency.
  • Meet and exceed customer expectations by providing consistent quality cuisine.
  • Ensure all food is stored and handled according to current health and hygiene regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times.
Qualifications
  • Must have full working rights for Australia.
  • Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship experience in a 5-star environment.
  • Proven ability to train others.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Culinary certificates are a must.
  • Flexibility with rotating rosters including weeknights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Understanding of and ability to maintain food safety standards.
