We are seeking a dedicated Employment Support Specialist to join our team at Workskil Australia Ltd in Coburg VIC. This full-time, ongoing role involves providing intensive mentoring to support Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander customers in their transition into employment.

About the Role

This challenging role requires an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively to build trusting relationships. The preferred candidate should identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or have extensive experience working with this cohort.

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized employment plans.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to help clients overcome barriers to employment.
  • Build relationships with local employers to secure job opportunities for clients.
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress, making adjustments to plans as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development (or willing to study).
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities (preferable).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet performance targets and work in a fast-paced environment.
