About the Role

Our Community Engagement Team delivers a range of programs to engage with our community, particularly schools and students. This includes tours and outreach programs which provide an opportunity for visitors to learn about Parliament House's history and significance.

When Parliament is sitting, the team supports the Assembly Chamber. The role plays an important customer service and visitor management role as the first point of contact for visitors to Parliament House.

The successful candidate will contribute to the work of the team by leading tours and promoting the role of Parliament through engaging activities at Parliament House, connecting with schools virtually through online incursions, and attending regional and metropolitan visits as required.

The Officer provides impartial front of house support and customer service to a range of stakeholders and assists with the operation of the Assembly Chamber on Sitting Days.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead tours and promote the role of Parliament through engaging activities at Parliament House;
  2. Connect with schools virtually through online incursions;
  3. Attend regional and metropolitan visits as required;
  4. Provide impartial front of house support and customer service to a range of stakeholders;
  5. Assist with the operation of the Assembly Chamber on Sitting Days.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., education, hospitality, tourism, etc.).

Experience: 1+ years of experience in customer service, education, or a related field.

Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment; strong problem-solving and adaptability skills.
