Financial Data Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Data Specialist to maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, and support the day-to-day financial operations of our client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Processing and Record Keeping: Process daily financial transactions like invoices and payments using Xero or similar software.
  • Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll processing for all entities, ensuring compliance with tax and superannuation rules.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms.
  • Ledger Maintenance: Maintain ledgers up to date and track expenses for projects.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Create, verify, and process supplier invoices and payments.
  • Revenue Recognition Support: Help apply the right revenue recognition rules for each business unit.
  • Financial Reporting Support: Prepare financial reports such as profit & loss, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.
  • Compliance and Audit Preparation: Ensure financial records meet Australian Accounting Standards and are ready for audit.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in media, entertainment, or project-based environments.
  • Proficient in Xero or similar tools; experience with payroll systems, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • Familiarity with payment platforms is a bonus.
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, GST, PAYG, and superannuation.
