Job Overview

The Financial Transaction Specialist is a pivotal role within an organization, responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions. This involves addressing transaction-related inquiries efficiently and providing support to the Finance Manager on various projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process financial transactions for a large number of employees on a regular basis.
  • Complete the end-to-end transaction process, including terminations and worker compensation claims.
  • Interpret and adhere to industry regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Make payments and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Utilize accounting software.
  • Maintain transaction records and ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of employee information.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a financial transaction role, accounting or finance qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience with end-to-end transactions and terminations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge including complaint handling, employee relations, work health and safety, policies and procedures, inclusion and diversity.
  • Problem-solving skills, the capacity to successfully deliver high-quality outcomes and meet deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of industry regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Ability to make payments and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Experience with financial accounting modules.
  • Solid understanding of how transactions are reflected in the accounting system.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain successful relationships.
  • Great knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational and time-management skills.
  • Creative thinker and proactive problem solver.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and maintain a high degree of confidentiality when dealing with complex matters.
  • Must have full working rights in Australia.
