Job Description\

As a seasoned leader in the sports industry, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of council sporting fields to a high standard. This includes providing expert technical advice and support on turf, irrigation, and sportsfield management practices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in turf management, with experience in leading teams and managing projects from conception to completion.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and maintaining council sporting fields to a high standard\
  • Providing expert technical advice and support on turf, irrigation, and sportsfield management practices\
  • Leading and supporting a team of staff and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes\
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve the quality and sustainability of council's sporting fields\
  • Responding to customer service requests and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
\Required Skills and Qualifications\

To be successful in this role, you will require:

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Diploma or similar tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. turf management, horticulture)\
  • At least 3 years' experience in a leadership or management role in the sports industry\
  • Proven track record of delivering successful projects and meeting deadlines\
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills\
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g. Australian Turfgrass Management Association)\
  • Experience in irrigation design and installation\
  • Knowledge of sustainable practices and environmental management principles
