About Us

  • We manage a vast network of state-controlled roads, encompassing approximately 9,076 km and the National Road Network's 1,510 km. This role is pivotal in contributing to the development and delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP).

This region has an estimated residential population of 422,141 people.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and participate in integrated transport planning projects and corridor studies within the district.
  • Lead, manage, and coordinate area planning, corridor strategies, feasibility, and concept phases (project proposal, options analysis, and business case development) of projects, working closely with consultants, advisors, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on project progress against time, cost, and quality specifications.
  • Manage project teams and consultants to ensure skills, utilization, deliverables, timelines, and budgets are met.
  • Prepare and deliver submissions and reports on planning and technical issues, and develop mitigation strategies for project obstacles.
  • Review planning documents from state and local governments to assess their impact on Transport and Main Roads.

Liaise with various teams to inform the development of road projects addressing safety and efficiency issues identified through data, crash investigations, speed reviews, ITS/Electrical works, heavy vehicle demands, and stakeholder feedback.


Mandatory Qualifications

A four-year, Washington Accord-accredited Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent recognized by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks, or a three-year Sydney Accord-accredited engineering degree such as Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) or recognized equivalent is required.
