Job Title: Traffic Management Officer

Overview:

  • Responsibilities include assessing road and traffic permits of varying complexity in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines.
  • Provide strategic advice on local road management within and external to the organization.
  • Attend meetings with key stakeholders, including Police, contractors, and traffic controllers; liaise with customers, agencies, and elected officials.
  • Collaborate with a team of traffic officers to ensure safe and efficient operation of the road network.
  • Investigate traffic-related complaints and conduct inspections/audits to ensure compliance with approvals.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in local traffic engineering with thorough knowledge of Australian traffic regulations and current practices.
  • Proven analytical, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to liaise with stakeholders on sensitive issues.
  • Ability to develop and assess traffic management plans and guidance schemes.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative with experience in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • A formal qualification in traffic management is required; traffic management design qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Valid C Class Driver's Licence.
  • 30215 QLD General Safety Induction Card (White Card).
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment checks as required.
