Job Title:
Operational Forecaster

We are seeking an experienced Operational Forecaster to join our team in real-time electricity system operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and improving forecast models for electricity demand, distributed photovoltaics (PV), and renewable energy generation.

  • Develop, implement, and improve forecast models for electricity demand, distributed PV, and renewable energy generation
  • Collaborate with weather providers and control rooms to translate weather risks into system impacts
  • Align tools, data, and forecasting processes across teams and markets
  • Provide energy and weather insights for operational advisories, incident reviews, and market reports

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering, mathematics, meteorology, or related fields
  • Experience in the energy sector or similar industry, especially in operations, forecasting, or analytics
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in preparing reports and presentations for diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of data analysis and statistical modeling techniques, including Power BI, Databricks, SQL, and Excel
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple projects and teams
