About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bar Attendant to join our team at YHA Australia. As a Bar Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our bar, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve food and drinks, including taking orders and handling cash transactions.
  • Operate a point-of-sale terminal, EFTPOS machine, and maintain accurate cash handling.
  • Perform bar cleaning duties, including maintaining equipment and adhering to food safety standards.
  • Restock drink fridges and snacks, and maintain the overall presentation of the service area.
  • Support the Food and Beverage Team with a 'can-do' attitude and strong work ethic.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a bar tender in a fast-paced, premium establishment (min 2 years).
  • High volume experience, able to work on multiple orders at once.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong cash handling and multi-tasking skills.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification.
  • Outgoing personality, genuine interest in the day-to-day operations, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays.
