Job Description:
As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide high-level legal and strategic advice on workplace relations, employment law, discrimination, misconduct, grievances, and dispute resolution.
Manage complex litigation and disputes across state and federal jurisdictions.
Advise on dispute resolution strategies, including mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal advice on all aspects of employment law and workplace relations.
- Manage significant litigation and contentious matters.
- Mentor and supervise junior lawyers to deliver exceptional legal services.
- Advise on administrative law, policy development, governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Engage with insurers and stakeholders to secure the best outcomes.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in Queensland (or eligible for admission).
- At least 7+ years' post-admission experience with strong expertise in workplace relations, employment law, industrial relations, and litigation.
- Experience advising on sensitive employment and dispute matters in complex organisations.
- Excellent advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence and communicate effectively.
