Fashion Designer - Product Developer


Job Description:

As a Fashion Designer/Product Developer, you will be responsible for researching trends, creating mood boards, curating cohesive collections, and designing commercially strong products from conception through development. Your tasks will include performing GAP analyses, designing assortment, collaborating with suppliers, sourcing fabrics, conducting fittings, and contributing to cost reduction initiatives.

You will maintain a constant pulse on the market landscape, including consumer needs, competition, trends, and brand position, with a focus on the Australian market. You will understand and drive company-wide strategies and OKRs, engage with multiple departments to understand how the business operates and support cross-functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities include identifying sales opportunities through trends, colors, market research, and customer insights; translating market and trends into commercially viable opportunities for the buying team. You will work with the buying team to ensure ranges and products align with buyer needs and category strategy.

Additionally, you will manage the full development cycle of new, exclusively developed products; oversee all aspects from design hand-off through TOPs. You will participate in quarterly trend presentations with the product development leadership team; translate market styles to customers.

Other key duties include assisting product development leadership in building capsule collections with buying and merchandising partners for the Australian market with global viability. You will create mood boards for suppliers and buyers; create CADs or flats for supplier development. Lead and manage all pre-production samples; ensure exclusives meet quality, fit, and styling standards.

Collaborate with the buying team to present monthly collections/stories to leadership and marketing.

The ideal candidate will possess 2+ years of experience in design or product development (fast fashion experience is highly desirable). You will have an understanding of current and future trends for the Australian market, a strong working knowledge of fabrics, trims, and garment construction, CAD development and sketching skills, and deep knowledge of the Product Development Lifecycle and its components.
