Disability Support Worker - Empowering Independence

At Life Without Barriers, we're committed to empowering individuals with disabilities to live life on their own terms. As a Disability Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in providing tailored, person-centred care to our clients in Albury, enabling them to engage in community activities and live autonomously.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you'll be responsible for providing daily personal care routines, supporting clients' choice and independence, and facilitating goal attainment through meaningful activities. This includes:

  • Assisting clients with daily personal care routines, such as bathing, shaving, and toileting
  • Supporting and advocating for clients' choice and independence
  • Facilitating goal attainment through client-chosen activities and encouraging community participation
  • Tracking and documenting clients' changing needs through thorough record-keeping
  • Fostering positive relationships with clients, families, and fellow team members
  • Following person-centred active support plans and behavioural support plans respectfully
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • An unrestricted New South Wales driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Demonstrated competency in basic technology usage on mobile and desktop platforms
  • A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 or willingness to obtain
