Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant on a 4-month contract to join our team as an Accounting Specialist for Financial Management. The primary purpose of this position is to manage financial records, analyse data, and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions. As an Accounting Specialist, you will maintain the financial health of the business by tracking expenses, preparing reports, and providing valuable insights to aid in decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and reconciliations.
- Oversee payroll management, including system configuration, timesheet audits, and monthly payroll processing.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger for multiple entities, guaranteeing accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports, including P&L statements and balance sheets, to provide insightful analysis and support business decisions.
- Conduct financial modelling and sensitivity analysis for business opportunities, ensuring informed investment choices.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary tax documents, safeguarding the company's reputation and finances.
- Assist senior finance staff with various accounting tasks and projects, demonstrating expertise and teamwork.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum
Requirements
- Licence to work in Australia.
- CA or CPA qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role, showcasing expertise and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in payroll processing and financial reporting software.
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills and general IT/software literacy.
- A high level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
