Project Officer Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to join our team, who will play a significant part in delivering reparations and support to Survivors of the Stolen Generations.

This role requires strong relationships with community, government, and other stakeholders, prioritizing cultural safety, compassion, and care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing project management services to ensure effective delivery of the Redress Scheme.

  • Provide ongoing support to project planning, delivery, and implementation as guided by the Project Manager.
  • Ensure monitoring against deliverables and key milestones through visual project dashboards for diverse audiences.
  • Update project plans, communication plans, and consultation plans as required.
  • Create and maintain an initial risk assessment for the project and identify actions to mitigate risks.
  • Assist in coordinating logistics, venues, cultural protocols, and travel requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement:

The ideal candidate will build and maintain strong relationships with Yokai members, Survivors of the Stolen Generations, government departments, and other stakeholders. This includes maintaining a log of Survivor queries and questions regarding the Redress Scheme.

Quality Assurance:

The selected candidate will demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement throughout the Project term, analyzing Survivor concerns, capturing community sentiment, and improving Project delivery and outcomes for beneficiaries.

Governance:

The Project Officer will contribute to and adhere to governance systems, providing timely reports and presentations on project progress to the CEO and Government as required.
