Positive Behaviour Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Positive Behaviour Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide evidence-based, person-centred and outcome-focused positive behaviour support to NDIS participants.
Responsibilities:- Assisting NDIS participants, along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
- Evaluating, developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
- Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
- Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths
- Building the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including mentoring less experienced Positive Behaviour Support Specialists
- Current suitability at the Proficient or Advanced level as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner is essential
- Considerable experience providing support to people with behaviours of concern (professionally and personally) is essential
- Flawless report writing skills
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and interpersonal skills
- Valid drivers licence and access to a reliable motor vehicle
- Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
