Job Title: Team Leader - Stormwater and Flood Maintenance

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Team Leader in Stormwater and Flood Maintenance. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for effectively supervising works and teams to deliver high-quality maintenance of the city's sewer, stormwater, and flood mitigation systems.

You will work both independently and as part of the Sewer and Stormwater team, demonstrating excellent leadership skills to achieve timely and productive outcomes on a range of projects.

The role involves leading, engaging, mentoring, and developing the team, ensuring effective personnel management to deliver operational works and achieve the best organisational and community outcomes.

• Supervise and Coordinate Teams: Plan and coordinate the sewer, stormwater, and flood maintenance teams' work activities, including plant, materials, and contractors.
• Maintenance Activities: Supervise maintenance activities, including choke clearing; sewer main jetting and rodding; pipe laying and repair; stormwater pit and pipe cleaning; excavation and shoring; levee bank and flood gate maintenance; pump station maintenance; plant operation; soil and sediment control; fencing; lawn/garden maintenance; rehabilitation works; traffic management; and site safety.
• Customer Service: Coordinate and respond to customer service requests in accordance with approved service levels.
• Administrative Duties: Undertake administrative duties relevant to the role, including but not limited to; Work Health & Safety documentation and reports (i.e. site safety inductions, risk assessments), purchasing requisitions; quotations and orders; timesheet and leave authorisations, maintenance of registers etc.
• Workplace Safety: Ensure all works are undertaken in accordance with workplace safety compliance requirements, utilising and maintaining all items of Council plant, equipment, tools (hand and power) and personal protective equipment and clothing (PPE/C).
• Annual Work Programs: Assist with the development and implementation of the annual work program and plans e.g. Traffic control plans, work method statements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teams within the Operations Division, the Civil Operations Directorate, and other Council Directorates as required.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Leadership Experience: Experience in leading and working effectively in a team and independently.
• Qualifications and Certifications: Qualifications relevant to the role and/or relevant experience related to the role.
• Driver's Licence: Class C Driver's Licence.
• Construction Induction Card: General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Traffic Controller Training: SafeWork NSW Traffic Controller Training Card and SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans Training Card.
• Vaccination Requirements: The successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Q-Fever.
