Development Manager

UNSW Sydney is seeking a highly skilled Development Manager to join our Philanthropy Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive significant social impact in areas such as climate change, human rights, education, and entrepreneurship.

About the Role

This is a key role in our fundraising program, reporting to the Head of Development. You will build and manage a personal portfolio of around 100 major gifts prospects to raise funds for your faculty. You will be joining an established fundraising team, passionate about working with others to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic approach to major gifts fundraising, identifying and cultivating high net worth donors
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and faculty members to achieve fundraising goals
  • Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop and implement fundraising strategies and campaigns
  • Write compelling proposals and reports to secure funding from major donors
  • Provide exceptional donor stewardship and recognition to ensure long-term relationships
Requirements
  • Proven experience in major giving fundraising and securing high net worth gifts
  • Significant relationship management and high interpersonal skills
  • A passion for fundraising and making a difference
  • Resilient, confident, collaborative, and proactive with high emotional intelligence
  • Experience writing proposals and achieving targets
  • An engaging storyteller through various channels (presenting, content creation, written word)
