Residential Care Home Lead – A Rewarding Opportunity
Job DescriptionLife Without Barriers delivers Out of Home Care services across Australia, supporting children and young people who are unable to live safely at home. Our work is guided by Cornell University's evidence-based Children and Residential Experiences (CARE) model, which promotes trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and relationship-based care.
We're seeking a compassionate and committed individual to lead one of our residential care homes in Perth. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll oversee day-to-day operations and create a safe, culturally respectful, and therapeutic environment for young people with complex needs.
This is a hands-on role based primarily on-site, with one day per week at our Leederville office. Some shift work is required, including public holidays and occasional early starts, with applicable penalty rates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of Residential Support Workers
- Ensure the home is emotionally and physically safe, nurturing, and engaging
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people
- Manage care planning, transitions, and stakeholder collaboration
- Roster staff appropriately and respond to crisis situations when needed
- Facilitate team meetings, reflective supervision, and ongoing training
- Keep client records and reports up to date using CIRTS database
