About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Data Center Construction Cost Control team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our data center projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage and manage 3rd party Quantity Surveyors (QS) to provide cost support and guidance to project delivery teams.
  • Support the preparation of operational plan budgets, including detailed cost forecasting and benchmarking analysis.
  • Provide commercial support for capital appropriation requests, including consolidating commercial information and presenting to Leadership.
  • Validate external construction cost estimates at various stages of the design process.
  • Support project teams in implementing procurement strategies and guidelines.
  • Lead post-contract construction commercial management, including providing guidance on GC pay applications, change order evaluations, and final account closeout.
  • Monitor adherence to company expenditure limits and policy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in construction cost control, with specific knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and CSA cost elements.
  • Experience with Data Center or other mission-critical construction environments.
