About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Cost Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Data Center Construction Cost Control team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our data center projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cost Management: Provide cost support and guidance to project delivery teams to ensure cost management across a portfolio of construction projects.
  2. Commercial Support: Assist in the preparation of operational plan budgets, including detailed cost forecasting and benchmarking analysis.
  3. Procurement Support: Support the procurement team with the tender process, participate in tender evaluations, and develop GC tender recommendations.
  4. Post-Contract Commercial Management: Provide guidance and recommendations on GC pay applications, change order evaluations, and final account closeout.
  5. Cost Reporting: Lead monthly cost reporting reviews and monitor against approved capital requests.
  6. Risk Management: Identify project risks and communicate financial cost impacts to the team.
  7. Compliance: Monitor adherence to company expenditure limits and policy.

Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Experience: 7+ years of experience in construction cost control, with specific knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and CSA cost elements.
  3. Skills: Strong construction knowledge, experience with estimating software, and RICS accreditation.
