Job Description:

The role of Support Specialist for Independent Living will provide tailored support to participants with disabilities, enabling them to maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting participants with daily activities, such as meal preparation, personal care, and household chores.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship, fostering a sense of trust and security.
  • Facilitating social interactions and community engagement, promoting social inclusion and a sense of belonging.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Reporting incidents and participating in company meetings, contributing to a safe and effective work environment.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a relevant industry or equivalent level of expertise and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the NDIS Code of Conduct and guidelines.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Intermediate IT skills, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
  • Availability to work shift hours, including weekends and public holidays.
