About the Role

The Aboriginal Family Violence Legal Service (AFVLS) is a program of Djirra, a leading organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal services, including advice, representation, and advocacy, in areas such as child protection, family violence intervention orders, family law, and victims of crime assistance.
  • Supervise legal and non-legal work undertaken by Lawyers and Paralegal Support Workers.

Requirements

  • A Victorian Employees Working With Children's Check card
  • Police Check
  • Driver's License
  • Eligible to hold a legal practising certificate in Victoria
  • A degree in law

Desirable Qualifications

  • At least one year of practical experience in a community legal, family violence, or justice-related setting.
