Job Title: Culinary Supervisor "Sous Chef"

The Culinary Team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Supervisor to lead our culinary operations.

As a Culinary Supervisor, you will oversee the kitchen team's preparation of dishes catering for hotel restaurants, bars, room service, and banquets. Your passion for culinary arts and creativity will shine through in your presentation and you'll pride yourself on delivering exceptional dining experiences for guests with an emphasis on maintaining high standards of hygiene and consistency.

You will support, develop and motivate the Demi Chefs, Commis Chefs, Cooks and Stewards under your supervision, working closely with other kitchen leaders to drive performance and success.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and produce high-quality food according to standard recipes
  • Manage food stock levels within food preparation areas ensuring sufficient quantity and quality relevant to hotel occupancy and function forecasts
  • Work closely with Senior Chefs to manage departmental expenses including labour and food costs
  • Develop and implement effective systems for monitoring local competitors and evaluating menu offerings
  • Lead and participate in the preparation of menus, revenue-generating ideas and marketing activations

We are looking for someone with a strong background in culinary operations and leadership experience, who can demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum 2-4 years' experience as a chef in a supervisory or management capacity
  • Qualifications in Commercial Cookery/Culinary Arts from a registered training provider
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with a collaborative approach to work
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload
