About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team at Commonwealth Bank. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for leading the development and deployment of machine learning and AI models that drive business decisions and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and execution of AI and data science projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Develop and implement scalable AI solutions, ensuring accuracy and reliability of models
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize opportunities for AI solutions
  • Build, develop, and deploy ML and AI solutions to drive business decisions and outcomes
  • Work with large and complex data within a corporate environment and automate processes
Requirements
  • Solid foundational experience leading projects within Data Science, ML models, and AI within a financial services organization or an equivalent large-scale environment
  • Strong hands-on coding and ability to write modular and optimized code using Python, R, Spark, Hive, SQL
  • Experience in developing, building, and deploying advanced statistical and ML predictive models to implement scalable AI solutions, including LLM (Large Language Models) and Generative AI
  • Innate ability to identify, analyze, and prioritize opportunities for AI solutions to achieve the greatest impact
  • Curious and innovative mindset blended with pragmatic thinking
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Master's degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics
